ADDITIONS AND RENOVATION PROJECTS:
Construction can be a stressful endeavor. For most homeowners major construction projects are something they do once in their lives. Understanding floor plans and dealing with the unending list of selections and decisions can be overwhelming. One of the biggest pitfalls for homeowners is not having a clear plan as to what they want to have done and making revisions during construction. My professional expertise can help you realize your vision, streamline the design selections, and "de-stress" the construction process.
KITCHEN RENOVATIONS
Kitchen Renovation:
Kitchen renovations are a great place to spend your money if you are
looking to remodel. They are typically one of the most prominent spaces
in your home, see a lot of abuse, and unfortunately are pretty quick to
look outdated. But a kitchen remodel doesn't always mean a gut job-
sometimes hand-picking the problem areas and revising those are all you
need. Like this Renovation project below - new counters, backsplash,
sink, lighting, appliance revisions and soffits made all the difference.

Kitchen Renovation/Custom Cabinetry Design:
Green Valley Designs even designed a custom kitchen in a New York City Penthouse. This custom design started from the studs as the homeowner had recently gutted the entire penthouse to start from scratch. Working with the client, we developed a design the incorporated an eat in banquet seating area, floor to ceiling custom cabinetry keeping with the buildings classic charm yet providing a functional and aesthetic solution.

Kitchen Renovation:
The featured
renovation project below is a classic case of an aged and cramped kitchen not being able to live up to today's demands. The young growing family really wanted an updated design, one that cleverly used every last inch of space to give them maximum storage while at the same time making appear bigger than it really was. After a few existing walls were removed and the main entry door relocated, we were able to expand the kitchen allowing for space for a new pantry and a better flow. This kitchen has finally met the expectations of this family and will be one that they will enjoy for many years to come.

NEW CONSTRUCTION WHOLE HOUSE
FINISH AND LIGHTING SELECTION
Whole House Finish and Lighting Selection:
The clients of the featured project below contacted Green Valley Designs, LLC just as studs were going up on their new home. They found themselves overwhelmed with all the construction decisions they had to make on their new home and hired us select all the paint colors, flooring, tiling, and lighting. The design direction was that they wanted a rustic, warm, and a laid back feel to their interior and they couldn't be more pleased with the result. The mix of wood, metal, sueded granite, and slate play off the rustic and unique lighting selections. Now with all the decisions made and installed all the home owners need to do is enjoy their beautiful new home.

Exterior Expansion and Redesign, Interior Gut:
The project below is the quintessential "diamond in the rough". The owners bought this property for the expansive farm land it sat on with the intention of gutting and expanding the existing home. The "before and after" photos speak for themselves to illustrate this dramatic transformation.
On the exterior, all the porches, decks, and roof were removed. A new higher roof line was created allowing for cathedral height ceilings within. Metal roofing was added above the porch and a new wrap-around porch was designed with rustic style support posts. A3-bay garage complete with workshop and loft storage above was connected with a breezeway. Yellow siding, copper metal roofing, stone pavers, and rustic stone cladding makes the new home almost unrecognizable from what it once was.
Inside most of the house was stripped to the bare bones. In the new Great Room a double sided indoor/outdoor fireplace is planned and rustic ceiling beams were incorporated. The homeowners will love their open-concept custom Kitchen with big working island and skylights above. A Mudroom complete with laundry, Screened-In Porch and expanded Master Bedroom with custom cabinetry were also added to the design scope of the project. The end result is a functional and aesthetically pleasing new home with great curb-appeal.

INTERIOR REMODEL
Waterfront Rental Property Renovation:
To say this waterfront property was in need of a serious face-lift is an understatement. This renovation called for literally painting every possible surface with a fresh coat of paint and WOW what a difference! The Kitchen needed some extra attention so the cabinets got painted, new light fixtures, some new appliances, new flooring and a cool retro metal backsplash tile was installed. Throw in some cute metal stools and this space is now ready for entertaining again. In the Bonus Room a versatile carpet tile was installed in a quarter-turn pattern to freshen up the space and give the long length some interest but I think we can all agree the real jewel of this room is the view!

Custom Master Walk-in Closet:
Who doesn't love a beautiful Walk-in Closet? In the below project we converted an existing unfinished space above the homeowner's garage into a spacious Master Walk-in Closet maximizing every last inch of usable space for storage. Working with the existing pitched ceiling, we decided to create a symmetrical design that offered custom wood grain built-ins for shoes, bags, sweaters and drawer space at both ends of the closet while providing sections for hanging clothes throughout the middle. Access behind the clothes rods was provided to allow for storage of suitcases and other bulky items in the lower pitched ceiling portion of the room.

1st Floor Gut:
The featured
renovation project below was a test to how much you can design into a petite 700 sq. ft. space. The existing layout was not well planned: it had many small underutilized rooms, the kitchen was outdated, there was not 1st floor bath or mudroom. With that, we decided to gut the entire first floor and start fresh only keeping the exterior walls and stair to the 2nd floor. A mudroom was added with coat closet and multi-purpose built-in nook for mail, keys, and devices. Just beyond a new 1st floor bath was added with a pocket door. From there you enter into the newly designed open kitchen complete with 4-person island, ample counter space and a wrap around window. The open casual dining area flows off the kitchen. To complete the design we carried the scope of work outside and added a nicely sized backyard deck. This renovation projected breathed new life into this formerly cramped dysfunctional floor plan and did it without adding an addition - just redefining how the existing interior was planned.

CHILDREN'S ROOMS AND NURSERIES:
Planning for baby can be a stressful time and getting the room "ready" is just one more thing on the list to do. This is one of our recent before and after nurseries for a little girl. Using cribs that convert to full size beds, more sophisticated drapery, dimmable lighting, and mouldings upgrade the space and make very flexible for a future "big kid" room.

Commerical and Healthcare Work
Did you know Green Valley Designs also does Commercial Design work? We do!
"We went back and visited an office renovation projects we did in Boston a few years back and were pleased to see how well it still looks! This project was a multi-phase gut were we removed all the existing finishes and most of the walls to create a new layout that worked for the new occupants. We added a few before photos so you could see what we started with. Included in the design were demo and new construction plans, all new finishes, custom detailed front end reception desk, logo wall and glass graphics, framed artwork/photos and a large portion of furniture (though some office pieces were existing).
